Here’s a quick look at some of the racing highlights happening this weekend. As usual – if you race and want to write a race report for us – contact us on Twitter, post a comment or leave a message on our Facebook page.
Leadville Trail 100: 100 miles of mountain bike racing in Leadville, Colorado. Yes, this is the big one. A race that many elite races and weekend warriors have on their bucket list. Known for the infamous Powerline, the ruts, the heat, the fatigue and the thin air – this race really has it all. Amongst the deep field racing on Saturday are a couple of our own: Vince Caceres, Sean Wright and Tricia Spooner will be battling it out and hoping to come away with a coveted belt buckle. To wet your appetite for Saturday’s race, take some time to watch these videos put together by xxcmag.com.
Classique Montreal-Quebec Louis Garneau: on Sunday elite male road racers will line-up in Montreal to contest one of the hardest and longest single-day races on the calendar. With a challenging course and the top riders and teams lining up, this is a race that always finishes with stories of triumph, second winds, and missed bottles. Best of luck to the Stevens Bikes Canada men’s team racing on Sunday.
2011 Canadian Track Cycling Championships: the Canadian Cycling Track Championships are currently being held in Bromont, Quebec. Racing kicked off on August 8 and ends this weekend with more elite racing. For news on the results so far, visit Pedalmag.com.
Best of luck to everyone lining up to race this weekend! Looking forward to hearing all your race stories.
